I have a question about my 52" RCA HDTV ?

January 16th, 2009 | by admin |

Ok I've been doing some research and to be honest its making me even more confused on what i already know. ok i went to walmart.com to see my tv because thats where i bought it about a year ago maybe alittle longer but anyways on the website it says it supports 1080i. well i have my ps3 running thro HDMI to component cables and right there gives me 480I. says my ps3 settings. on the back of my tv there is DVI-HDTV if i buy the HDMI to DVI cable will that give me 1080I? i understand i wont have sound but i have surround sound for that problem so i got that figured out already but it says my tv supports 1080I. i have a friend who says it wont make a differeance from what im seeing now with 480I. i dunno if thats true or not but either way i rather have 1080I for my bluray movies and games. here is the link

i forgot to mention my tv does not have HDMI plugins

You should be getting 1080i with component cables or with HDMI to DVI. Make sure your PS3 video output is set to automatic.

Your HDMI cables are capable of carrying 1080i clarity, you need to go through the settings on your tv to make sure it is set to display at that.

The industry is mortified that we will copy movies, so they collaborated with hardware makers to intentionally limit component video out to 480i/p.
You may be out of luck.
