The Samsung LN32B460 32 Inch 720p LCD HDTV – What Is 720p Technology?
June 29th, 2009 | by Phil Edgar |When it comes to picture and audio quality, the Samsung LN32B460 32 inch LCD HDTV is top of the line. It's been flying off the shelves in record breaking numbers since its release in the spring of 2009.
It comes with many state of the art technological features, including 720p technology. But what does 720p actually mean?
720 stands for the amount of horizontal scans on the screen. It can also sometimes stand for 720 pixels of vertical resolution. The letter p stands for progressive scans.
A typical 720p HDTV screen with 16:9 widescreen resolution has a vertical resolution of 720 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1280 pixels. That means it has a total of 921,600 pixels. This will provide nothing but crystal clear images for viewers.
The more pixels your TV has the better. If you were to compare an old camera phones images with the images of a top of the line digital camera, the difference would be clear. The digital camera's images would be much sharper and clearer. Thats because a digital camera's images have many more pixels on them - the same principal goes for HDTVs.
Another great technological feature of the Samsung LN32B460 32 inch 720p LCD HDTV is its SRS TruSurround HD technology. The audio quality is great. The SRS TruSurround HD technology ensures that you always high frequancy detail, rich bass sounds and clear dialogue, no matter what you're watching. This is all via the standard pair of 10 watt speakers that come with the TV.
The Samsung LN32B460 also has a neat gaming mode. The gaming mode gives you more realistic pictures by speeding up the TV's image processing response time and also combat screen blur. It also enhances audio features and colors - all at the touch of a button on your remote control.
For anyone who's thinking of buying the Samsung LN32B460 32 inch 720p LCD HDTV I would highly recommend they order from a reputable online retailer. I ordered mine from the net and had it delivered for free three days later. I also got a better deal than I would have at my local electronics store (probably because the online retailer doesn't have to pay for high street rent or floor staff).
