42 rca hdtv will it work with dtv or will i need a dtv box
If you have a 42 inch HDTV, you do not need a converter box. Your TV already has the digital tuner and the other responder, who normally answers these questions correctly, is wrong.

Ok I've been doing some research and to be honest its making me even more confused on what i already know. ok i went to walmart.com to see my tv because thats where i bought it about a year ago maybe alittle longer but anyways on the website it says it supports 1080i. well i have my ps3 running thro HDMI to component cables and right there gives me 480I. says my ps3 settings. on the back of my tv there is DVI-HDTV if i buy the HDMI to DVI cable will that give me 1080I? i understand i wont have sound but i have surround sound for that problem so i got that figured out already but it says my tv supports 1080I. i have a friend who says it wont make a differeance from what im seeing now with 480I. i dunno if thats true or not but either way i rather have 1080I for my bluray movies and games. here is the link

Recently my tv has been makig weird static crackling popping noises every few minutes while im watching it? sounds like its coming from the speaker but im not really sure, any idea what it could be? ive had it about 2 yrs. thanks!
could be interference try plugging your tv in a diffrent socket or moving it just to see if it is.

Let me start by saying to anyone that does not have a Hava. No it does NOT record in HD, it downscales all images to 720x480i, however you can play in HD while recording. The only problem is the Hava does a terrible job at downscaling the images, creating pixelation, especially while in 720p. Which basically defeats the entire point of buying one.
So if you're looking into buying one, take note of this first! If you want nice quality video (recorded) while playing in HD, then do not bother, just wait for something better or if you're rich buy a $600 HD Capture Card. But if you don't care that much about the video quality, think the 1080i quality is good enough, or just can't play in HD to begin with, then the Hava is great. BTW Amazon has good prices for the Platinum, you'll also want to buy some RCA Couplers, a 3 prong for Composite cords, 5 prongs for Component.
As you can see, 720p looks like horse @#$%, also has huge interlacing problems, even though I deinterlaced all footage in the video. 1080i looks OK but still has noticeable pixelation, especially in small text. 480p looks very nice and clean, although a little darker, but that's very easily fixed in editing. You can even adjust that in the Hava Setup/Player so that it records a brighter, more vivid picture to begin with.
If anyone knows any tricks on how to get the 1080i & 720p to look better, please let me know in the comments or you can send me a message. Same thing if you have any questions.

If you have composite inputs on your monitor R G B video along with the R W audio connections You connect these to the digital outputs on your converterbox. Dont forget to have both video and audio connections made to what ever you are using from the digital converter box. make sure you have the right cables too you do not need the yellow RCA connector for this. Remember inputs go in and outputs go out like to the TV

Sometimes, rarely, unplugging from wall outlet for about a minute and re-trying. If not, most likely problem in power supply or deflection circuitry. Take note of whether or not the power light comes on, doesn't come on, or blinks at a slow or a rapid pace. That will give you some kind of hint to tell the service tech when you call for repair.

When I turn on the power, the TV sqeaks off and on a couple times like a mouse, while the power botton blinks. After it sqeaks and blinks about 3 or 4 times it stops then nothing else happens. Any suggestions?
The TV is "attempting" to power up, and it senses too much current or too high of a voltage.....that's why it tries 3 times then shuts off completely....It's the way RCA designed their power supplies, it protects itself by shutting down after testing/failing 3 times in a row....

have a tv tech check for bad caps in the power supply and also for the high voltage and rca are junk sets anymore...
If I hooked up my ps2 to the TV would it have negative effects on the screen like burning the image in.

If that's the plasma RCA, then yes you will get images being burnt onto the display. But that takes a lot of hours to burn through anyway (at least 500 hours).

As a Horse's Birthday is always August the first, he decided to open Channel 0 on the same day.
The callsign for Channel 0 in Melbourne ATV was derived from the name of Reg Ansett's Television Company called "Austarama Television" the "V" standing for Victoria.
During the first week of August 1994, TEN News in Melbourne celebrated the TV Station's 30th Birthday with a series of special reports aired during the 5pm Ten Eyewitness News.
At the end of that week a 1 hour special aired on the Saturday and included extended segments of the items aired during the News that week.
This is the Extended Opening segment to that Special.

While it's certainly got a 1960s feel.. "Hey Look me Over" could be considered as 0-10s FIRST foray into the catchy promo campaign jingles that were to come in the years to follow.
While this song was a definate invitation to watch Channel 0, I don't believe it was a regular campaign jingle for the station.
In the years that followed through the 1960s and into the 1970s Channel 0 Melbourne's image was constantly in flux.
There was a Logo change almost every 2 years until the mid 1970s when the station settled on the square 0 logo that was created for the arrival of Colour TV in 1975. The 4 segments of the 0 logo representing different colours.. Red, Blue, Green and Orange/Yellow.
The square 0 Logo was actually created and unveiled in 1974 and was used in the Colour Test transmissions that year prior to full Colour Broadcasting commencing on March 1, 1975.
In 1980, another logo change as the Station went from 0 to 10 and then another series of logo changes, four in all during the 1980s before the current "ten" logo, introduced in 1991, that is with us to this present day.
