I have a Mitsubishi HDTV that is capable of a 1080p picture. However, it is not showing at 1080p it's only showing at 480i. I was wondering what i needed to do to get my picture in 1080p. I have dishNetwork HD service but my picture still only shows in 480i and i don't see settings on the TV to change it to 1080p.

Well I still have this TV and it does not have HDMI ports on it so I had to buy the componet cables for my BD Player. I hooked all 5 plugs in but nothing is showing up on my tv. This TV is about 5 years old do you think those are real? Is there a setting the TV has to be on to make this work?

It's been a while. Well, not really. I just haven't had the heart to make anything new.
So, what's in this video?
- VIDEO CAMERA!
- HUGE (like CD-i) TV!
- HD GAMING! (If you think 480P is HD)
- ME PLAYING CALL OF DUTY 4!
- ME SUCKING AT CALL OF DUTY 4!
Yes, I'm well aware there's scanlines and the game's too bright to see. I didn't realize this until after I ported the video over. This probably means this won't be done again until I find a way to make it not glare as much.
Oh, and one recurring gag that's been going through my mind: "THIS IS NEXT-GEN!" It refers to how people tout this as "the next generation of video gaming," when all we've made progress-wise is prettier graphics and physics. And tacky SIXAXIS support.
Better than nothing, I guess.

Yes your HDTV is capable of 1080p. But you need to buy an HDMI cable (if you don't have one already) to have the 1080p signal. If you are using the cables inculed in the PS3 box, you are not going to get 1080p. A great place to buy cables for video and audio is Monoprice.com.

I have a Mitsubishi DLP WD-62627 that only comes with HDMI and DVI connection. Guys at Compusa or Circuitcity told me that I could projet my PC to the HDTV via S-video (my laptop does not have HDMI or DVI). I tried but no luck. Any one has suggestions?
You will need a converter to change the analog signal coming out of your old laptop to digital DVI for the TV. Too bad you didn't ask me before buying your TV, I would have told you to get a Sony which has inputs for everything except the dreaded nightmare of DVI and all of its ridiculous incarnations. There is a remote possibilty that your Mitsu will accept an analog DVI input. If your laptop has a VGA output, you can get a VGA to DVI adapter cable for $20 to $40 bucks that might work. But I doubt it. Mitsus are notorious for being user unfriendly.
