first the 32 in good choice. i dnt know much about an lg but i do know about samsung. i own a series 4 32 in samsung and its freakin awesome. it has all the components u need.

my family bought a LG hdtv today and i was wondering what does hdtv do? does the tv come with hd channels?
i have a digital box and a cable wire . the cable wire works downstairs but not upstairs?
A HDTV simply DISPLAYS input in an HD resolution.
If the input is HD, it will display in HD.
If the input is standard def, it will scale it up.
speakers and the surround sound at the same time?

You don't have to buy from anything. If you live in the Midwest like me, cox digital cable comes with the cable deal thing, internet, and digital telephone. They really need to expand though with over 5 million customers. Good thing it's DIGITAL CABLE...

yeah they are well worth it it makes the images look aloot better i believe there is a image comparison on the internet i cant remember were but it compares SD zelda to and EDTV zelda and the difference is incredible

I recently bought a LG-42LG50 HDTV and I love it, but I have a problem with the speaker buzz. I've connected my laptop computer to it through a VGA-to-VGA cable with 1/8th to 1/8th audio, and when it's connected I hear the buzzing sound come from the tv speakers especially when I increase the volume.
Any ideas?
Try connecting the laptop to another power outlet.
If the power cord is non-polarized, you can try flipping it around.

when i watch basketball in HD, the picture darkens slightly in increments during each possesion.(stars out bright,then a shade darker ,then a shade darker than that etc.)as soon as one team shoots,and the other team gets possesion it brightens back to normaland the whole thing starts all over again.. it only happens during basketball games ,and it doesnt matter what channel(tnt,msg,espn,cbs)

I love my HDTV, but at the sides of the screen (on both the left and the right) it tends to get somewhat fuzzy/muted. Most of the time it's not noticeable...only when I have video game menus on, or an HD movie playing. I've been through the menu/display a few times, but I can't seem to correct the problem. Does anyone have any ideas, or suggestions? Thanks!
also you probably have noticed that when you hit the volume button that the volume bar is slightly bowed. these issues are due to the fact that the picture tube is at their absolute minimum and that is what causes the things youre seeing. ive dealt with these tvs for a while and have found that anything other than complete failures that are related to the picture is just because of their construction

If you had the choice to buy a LG - 42" 720p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV for $700 or a 40' sony plasma for $650 which would you choose?
The LG, cause sony has not made a plasma in 3 years. So that Sony might be old. And if it is a newer LG it has the the rite hook ups on the back of the tv to get that hd picture.
