This is a great phone. It's innovative touch screen feels very iPhone-like and is quite responsive. Texting was a complaint in many people's minds, but there is just a bit of a learning curve...once you're used to it, it's easy and efficient. The 3.2MP camera is a very good camera (for a phone) and could even probably substitute for an older digital camera. If you have the few extra bucks, go the extra mile and buy the LG Dare...5/5

The user manual for this receiver claims that it can accept signals from antenna, cable, and/or satellite. However, I have not yet found anyone on the Web (e.g. in newsgroups) who use this receiver with a cable connection. I am wondering if this HDTV receiver can tune both analog and digital (including HDTV) cable, and keep both the analog and digital channels in the channel memory. For example, say analog channels 2 - 70 as well as any digital/HDTV channels that my cable company sends in the clear.
In response to the second answer, the manual actually does state that it works with a cable connection. However, I'm not certain if the cable signal tuned by this receiver from the cable connection is analog-only, digital-only, or both. Thanks.
According to the manual it is a directv receiver. It will not work with cable.

Surge protection is only one aspect of protecting your equipment AND getting the best possible picture. "Dirty" power (small surges and dips in power that a surge suppressor won't even trip on) will result in less that optimal video quality. What you REALLY want it a Power Conditioner - it will have surge protection built-in. I use one from APC. Monster makes some... so do Belkin and Furman. Prices start at around $300 and go up depending on the size of the capacitor in the unit, and the various "stages" of power conditioning and power filtering it performs.

Hi I always love Sony & Philips. Right now, I have 38''Philips HDTV/LCD 768P but, I want to upgrade & the Philips HDTV there not that good. I am going to use the 40''HDTV for video games,Blu-ray & HD cable. I heard that LG makes outstanding HDTV. Then should I get LG or Sony & why? Thank you!
I say you'd should get LG because i have one LG and one Sony and the LG is so much better

I have a LG 47" 1080p HDTV and a recently purchased Sony BDP-S350 Blu-Ray player (firmware still requires an update). I use a HDMI cable to connect the player and the TV. The problem that I encountered is that when I go to the player's Easy Setup menu and set the output resolution to 1080p, the TV screen gets snowflake-like, faint but distracting noise. When I set it to 1080i however, the screen is clear and fine. What could be the cause of this? Thanks in advance for help and suggestion!
Check your TV manual. I suspect that the maximum resolution for the TV is 1080i and NOT 1080p. If that's the options. Go for 720p, it would probably look better since it's progressive not interlaced.

If I get a Westinghouse 42" HDTV with 1080p, will the picture be any worse than a more popular brand of TV such as a LG, Sony, or Samsung that has 1080p also? I wouldnt think so since they have the same specs but Im not quite sure.
Are they both the same? IE, LCD, plasma, projection, hdlp, etc.? If they are the same than, yes, there may be a noticeable difference. More popular brands use better processors which interprets signals faster producing better picture quality. All screens are produced by one of two manufacturers so the screens themselves have nothing to do with the picture (if they are the same type).
