Does anyone have a Hitachi HDTV they're happy with? Is Hitachi a good brand to buy?

Yes...Hitachi is one of the best brands to buy. When I bought my television I had originally ordered a Mitshubshi but it was back ordered. Sears replaced the tv with the Hitachi and I am very happy. They have great pictures and easy to use remotes (sony remotes suck)

Hi I have 1 Hdmi port & my 50″ Hdtv it doesn’t have no Hdmi source?

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Hi I have 50" Hitachi Hdtv/lcd with native 1080i & my Playstaion 3. I'm using Hdmi 1.3a cable from Belkin brand & is connect to my Playstation 3 to the back of my Hdtv the Hdmi port. Remember that I said I have 1 Hdmi port. I go to input 1 & I do not see no picture & it is pinch black screen. I go my menu settings to find Hdmi source & it is not there. I went to input settings & there are input 1,input2,DVD,Input3,Air,Cable, & Input 4. What can I do & how do I find the Hdmi input channel? Thank you.

Use your remote control and scroll through all the video inputs with the PS3 running. My HDMI is on video 7. It shouldn't matter which antenna setting you use since the video overrides it. GL!

DI-700-XF Intel WhisperHD CrossFire Performance Desktop / DX10 Gaming Computer

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

2 DI 700 XF Intel WhisperHD CrossFire Performance Desktop / DX10 Gaming ComputerThe finest Intel Core 2 Quad CrossFireX eXtreme High Definition gaming platform available! Coincidentially, Fury XHD CFX is also the fastest custom-made CrossFireX gaming PC in its price range. Using the latest Intel's P45 or X48 chipset to enable dual Radeon graphics cards to work in tandem, this machine can achieve framerates physically impossible for any single-card setup. Alternatively, the dual-card capability can be used to augment the machine's 3D power in the future. Factory-overclocked quad-core processor makes sure that the graphics cards are never CPU-bottlenecked, and enthusiast-grade hard drive takes care of swift level loading times. Lest it be forgotten that the graphics cards are factory-overclocked as well! System looks are never skimped on either, with meticulous handcrafted cabling done by a dedicated technician so you can tell it's a hardcore gaming PC just by looking at it. Despite breakneck speeds achieved, our Fury XHD CFX has been applauded for remaining just barely louder than a regular home PC even under extreme loads. All in all, the sum of its parts combined with obsession with details come together to form one of the finest (yet affordable) Core 2 Quad CrossFireX gaming systems available today.

which HDTV plasma is better panasonic or Hitachi? 42 inch?

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

It's really hard to choose one over the other without having lived with both. With the newer technologies, the proof is often not in the out-of-the-box picture quality but in the long term quality of product, including picture quality. That being said, I can't speak as to Hitachi, but I've had my 42" Panny for 3 years now and have been very happy with it. Picture is still sharp and the set is holding up well. I did have a problem with the power supply in the 3rd month I owned the TV, but Panasonic took care of it at their service center while I (actually, my wife) waited (only about 20 minutes). So, I guess I'm saying that their customer service is solid.

I have a hitachi lcd t.v.i want blue ray.my t.v.has a DVI-HDTV connection is that the same as HDMI?

Monday, December 29th, 2008

If not, is it worth buying a blueray player and using my t.v.s component connections

DVI is the video portion of HDMI ... use an HDMI>DVI cable (or an adapter, but the adapter is as expensive as a cable and you still need the HDMI>HDMI cable).

What is the best HDTV. LCD, DLP, Plasma or Rear Projection?

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

I plan on buying a 65" Hitachi HDTV (DLP) $2,200.00 - 2,500.00. It is 1080, but I have to check to see if its I or P. I was wondering how it would stack up to the others (LCD, Plasma or Rear Projection) or whether the others were worth the time.

That's a monster tv. Make sure to check it is P and not I as that really would spoil it! It's difficult to say straight off which one's better - you have to factor in energy efficiency, form factor, brightness into it as well as picture quality.

DI-500-CFX “Spartan HD CFX”

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

2 DI 500 CFX Spartan HD CFXThe fastest cost-efficient dual-Radeon gaming platform available in its price range, this machine was designed specifically for budget-conscious gamers who would not settle for an OEM "gaming system". Second-fastest dual-core processor ever made (or a quad-core for the same price) coupled with 4GB of XMS2 RAM and the fantastic new Radeon HD4850 (all in stock configuration) enable this rig to smoothly run the latest titles in High and Ultra quality on a 22-inch monitor, with the fastest DVD burner available and enthusiast-grade Caviar Black hard drive take care of storage and level loading times. This all-custom gaming PC actually exceeds the recommended hardware requirements of any game on the market today! One of notable features is CrossFireX support, enabling you to add a second graphics card for nearly double the 3D performance, either as a great upgrade path or as a means to get overkill framerates right off the bat. Every single other component is customizable as well: from case to power supply to lighting scheme, from the processor and memory amount to hard drive space, from graphics to sound and network card, every part a gamer might be interested in is available for customization. How come the crowd noise is so much louder than the announcers whenever I watch a sporting event on my HDTV?

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Whenever I watch a football, basketball, or baseball game in HDTV, the crowd noise is much louder than the announcers. I have a year old 57" Hitachi. Thanks.

If you are using the built in ATSC (high def) tuner then you are receiving the Dolby Digital surround broadcast through the television as well, which tries to pump everything possible through the TV speakers, which isn't always a bad thing, but because the broadcasters are trying to make the experience bigger for the viewer at home it sometimes poses this problem. You will also experience this through external sources like satellite and cable as well. The best way to defeat this is to adjust your sound settings on your television - you may even want to disable the surround sound function on the set. The sound will still be stereo, but the TV will not try as hard to create the full effect. With your Hitachi set you've got the ability to change quite a bit with the sound, so you may want to adjust it there. Also check the settings in the tuner to set the output to stereo instead of surround sound, this will also help.
