Just got a Sanyo Xacti HD1010. I have it connected to my PC via the USB cable in the dock. I also have the video cable from the dock going to the Component video input on my Dell HDTV Monitor. I select the Component Input on the Dell TV, then I put the camcorder in Playback mode in the dock, and hit the button on the dock. Nothing displays on the monitor. I've tried both Component Inputs on my Dell TV Monitor. Nothing. Am I missing something?

a review of dell's new line. just trying to give you the basic feel of it. it's a little too long, but useful if you want to really see one before you buy it. overall, i'm happy with it.
update* yes you can turn off the backlighting on the keyboard and set it to a lower level, and some models in stores do not have the finger print reader, even though there's a picture of it on the box. also, some of my features came standard with my laptop because i started off on a more expensive model.

So ever since I got my HDtv I've wanted to hook my laptop up to it. I was just going to get a DVI cable and hook that up, then I remembered how shitty laptop speakers are.
I have a Vizio HDtv LCD VOJ370F (1A)
and my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1721.
I'm not sure if this information is needed or not, but maybe helpful.

After sending my Wii to Nintendo because it wouldn't play CoD5 and then having it sent back to me unrepaired, I decided to spend around one hour playing MoH to make a mini montage, now I have my laptop.
The Persona I use in this video is 'EFAli'. Unfortunatley I've now left Excessive Force due to various reasons but I guess this video can be dedicated to them!
The laptop used is the Dell Studio 15. It has a built in webcam of 2 mega-pixels.

Our monitor died and I need a new one. I want one mainly as a computer monitor but also as a TV. We will always have digital cable with a box but will be just hooking it up direct to the coaxil cable hook up on the wall, no box as we only need basic cable in this room.
I've gotten a lot of messages asking how I got the 9800GTX+ to fit inside the Dell Inspiron 530. So here is a little video showing where everything went.
1. Remove your memory if you want. I did so that I could have a little more room to move the HD around.
2. Unplug yout sata cables from the HD and DVD drives. Set them aside.
3. Unscrew your hard drive and reposition it on the very bottom of the computer. Take 1 screw and screw the HD in using the middle hole on it as the video shows.
4. Once you have it screwed in, you will notice that there is about 1/4in of space between the floor of the computer and the HD. Much better than letting it just sit on the floor in my opinion. Also, 1 screw will hold the HD firmly.
5. Next take your sata cables and connect the blue one(HD) to the lower left sata connection. Then, take the orange one(DVD) and connect it to the lower right sata connection. The top 2 sata connections will be covered by the GTX+.
6. If you took your memory out, now is the time to put it back in. If not, go to step 7.
7. Take your 9800GTX+ and angle it so that you can slide it in behind the bay wall. Connect it to the PCI-E X16 slot and plug your power supply to it.
7. Now all you have to is reconnect the sata cables to the HD and DVD drives and you're set.
I hope this litte guide helps! Also the idle temps for this computer and card are 44c @ 75% fan speed and 38c @ 100% fan speed. Load temps are 55c @ 100% fan speed. These temps are with the card at Stock Clocks.

Okay the MKV file is the HD version of planet earth. Now what im wondering, if i connect my laptop (dell studio 15) to my tv using an HDMI cable will i be seeing in it in High definition (because its playing through my computer), or will i be seeing it as if i was watching it on non-HD laptop?

I have purchased a Dell Inspiron laptop from a friend. Its in excellent working condition. My issue is I tried connecting my laptop to my 32'' HDTV lcd Monitor via the HDMI but I get a blank screen on the TV. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to configure my laptop to run on a separate moniter? This is my first time using a laptop and I would appreciate any answers.
There are a few things you can try:
1. Using the fn button plus one that looks like a Square with 2 bars to the left and right wrapped in another square to select the different display.
or
2. Right click anywhere on the desktop and select Graphic Output to TV, make sure that the TV is connected via HDMI and turned on before right clicking.
