I saw a viewsonic HDTV for $289. Is this a good price? What would be the cheapest i could get for 26"?
that would be 289 with shipping and tax. w/o would be 274
I wouldn't pay more than $250 for a 26" lcd because you can get a 32" for $379...I have seen them for $229

I just bought a sharp hdtv digital tv for my bedroom . My bedroom has no cable and Im not planning on getting cable because that is just a extra bill. How can I get the tv to work since no more "rabbit ears" will be use? The converter box is for tvs that are not digital so what do i do? btw I have cable in my living room.
I really have no idea what you mean by "How can I get the tv to work since no more "rabbit ears" will be use? The converter box is for tvs that are not digital so what do i do?"

I have a Samsung LE40A656, and I cannot, for the life of me, work out how to get the DTV to work. It may just be the case that the wiring is wrong. When I scan for channels it finds 70 channels but 0 services and then says something along the lines of "check your ariel cable" (which I have). So if anyone who owns a Samsung HDTV with Freeview built-in, would be willing to give advice, I would be more than grateful.
70 channels but ZERO services ??

42 rca hdtv will it work with dtv or will i need a dtv box
If you have a 42 inch HDTV, you do not need a converter box. Your TV already has the digital tuner and the other responder, who normally answers these questions correctly, is wrong.

I Live in Rouzer dorm at McDaniel college which was built in the 60s. We all get cable here and I have a Sony HDTV 40V4100. Right now I can get TNT and Comcast Sports net in HD on channel 106.1 and 106.2. However I cannot get any of the broadcast stations in HD, for example NBC HD or PBS HD, which I know you can get with an antenna. Thinking it was a week signal do to the dorms age I bought a signal booster from Motorola. unfortunately, it did not help I still can only get TNT and Comcast sports net in HD. I was wondering whether the booster was bad. I can find out the SNR (dB) and the IF-AGC (%) form the the signal diagnostics menu but do not know what I am looking for to tell me the strength of the signal or why cant I get any other HD channels.
Well, you obviously are connected to cable. So, does the cable system carry the HD version of the local stations? If they do, do you have to purchase a special package to get them?

I recently purchased a Samsung HDTV Series 550 and I would like to connect my PC to it. In order to get the best picture, I was wondering what connection would be better: VGA (also called D-Sub) or HDMI. Thanks.
Also, I should mention. My computer has vgi out from my graphics card.
Edit: DVI* not VGI, I got quick on the draw there.
If your computer and/or monitor has HDMI output then you can connect your TV to PC in high definition! Woo! The best way to do this is to connect your monitor or PC to your TV using a HDMI cable and finding the PC aux channel on your TV. You might have to use your video/graphic card application on the PC to switch between screens and set resolutions etc.

i need good video and sound quality for my ps3 and 47" HDTV. i saw a good priced dynex for 23 dollars. some reveiws on the product were bad others weren't. is there honestly any differecnce between hdmi cables
Yes there is a difference between HDMI cables. I've tried out different cables from cheap $5 to $50 Sony cables and $100 Monster cables. Some little bits of detail are not shown correctly using cheap cables, but it also depends on personal preference as some people think the cheap cables look great too.

Just got a Sanyo Xacti HD1010. I have it connected to my PC via the USB cable in the dock. I also have the video cable from the dock going to the Component video input on my Dell HDTV Monitor. I select the Component Input on the Dell TV, then I put the camcorder in Playback mode in the dock, and hit the button on the dock. Nothing displays on the monitor. I've tried both Component Inputs on my Dell TV Monitor. Nothing. Am I missing something?
All details are on their home page.

The video will look crappy unless you click this link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbnOWpNx7NA&fmt=22
Test footage recorded on my Sony HDR-SR12 high definition handycam.
The video is divided up into 3 sections:
1. HD test footage
2. 10.2 megapixel photos - taken with the handycam
3. clips recorded in smooth slow record mode, (which is in 300 frames per second)
**PLEASE NOTE**
the video size is 640 x 360, therefor watching the video in full screen will stretch the image and cause the video to look pixelated.
in future i will most likely export the video to 1920 x 1080 so you can see the camera quality at its full potential!.
check out the camera here:

thanks for watching, and dont forget to subscribe!
